In a bold maneuver, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has successfully foiled a child trafficking scheme, liberating five minors from the grasp of suspected traffickers.

As per a statement by SP Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer for the FCT Command, the arrest took place on April 27, 2024, around 8:00 p.m. at Kagini Junction, Abuja. Two female suspects, identified as Kulu Dogonyaro and Elizabeth Ojah, were apprehended while trying to transport the children into the Federal Capital Territory.

Initially attempting to evade capture by Sokoto police operatives, the suspects were eventually apprehended by FCT officers. The rescued children, aged between 6 to 12 years old, have been handed over to the Sokoto State Police Command for further investigation and to facilitate their reunion with their families.
