Fear Grips Abuja As Man Claims He Was Robbed At Popular Millennium Park

A man has raised concerns over the security situation in Abuja after allegedly being robbed of his gold by a group of men shortly after leaving Millennium Park.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the man said he had visited the popular park for a church picnic and was heading back to his vehicle when the alleged incident occurred.

He explained that he briefly wound down his car window to allow hot air to escape before switching on the air conditioner. According to his account, some men approached the vehicle and appeared to be asking for money.

The situation allegedly changed suddenly when the men grabbed his gold and fled from the scene.

The man said he immediately drove after the suspects while some other people also joined the pursuit. He claimed that one individual who got close to the alleged robbers was stabbed before the suspects escaped into a nearby bush.

He further stated that he continued following the suspects towards the area behind the Ministry of Justice, where he appealed to security personnel to assist in chasing them.

According to him, he offered to pay the security personnel for their assistance, but they allegedly declined to intervene.

The man said he decided to share his experience publicly to create awareness and draw attention to what he described as growing security concerns in Nigeria’s capital.

He expressed disappointment over the alleged incident and concluded by warning residents and visitors to remain cautious, stating that he believes Abuja is no longer as safe as it used to be.

The allegations have sparked concerns about security around public recreational areas in the capital, although there was no independent confirmation in the account of the identities of the alleged attackers or the circumstances surrounding the reported incident.
