Former Bayelsa Governor Alleges Prominent Figures From Lagos And Abuja Involved In Niger Delta Oil Theft....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Senator Seriake Dickson, representing Bayelsa West in the National Assembly, has brought attention to a concerning issue: elites from Lagos and Abuja allegedly involved in the pervasive oil theft in the Niger Delta region. During a recent appearance on Channels Television, the former Bayelsa State governor shed light on the intricate network benefiting from this illicit activity.

Dickson’s remarks highlight the urgent need to address systemic failures and the absence of national values that permit the exploitation of Nigeria’s oil wealth for personal enrichment. He emphasized the lack of scientific methods for accurately measuring and monitoring oil production, implying a deliberate neglect by those in power to curb theft.

“Why should Nigeria, a country with a 70-year history of oil production and export, lack a scientific approach to metering and recording oil transactions?” Dickson questioned, suggesting a deliberate oversight.

The senator also pointed out the alarming consequences of oil theft, such as the influx of illegal funds and arms, exacerbating issues like cultism and violence in the region. Accusing individuals from Abuja and Lagos as the masterminds, he criticized the complicity of the official security apparatus, the oil industry, and federal authorities in perpetuating a “criminal, powerful system” that exploits the Niger Delta.

These revelations underscore the pressing need for comprehensive measures to combat oil theft and its detrimental effects on the region’s socio-economic fabric.
