Angwe, previously the NNPP’s National Legal Adviser, conveyed this announcement through a statement issued on Sunday in Markurdi, the capital of Benue State.

Angwe expressed his gratitude towards the party’s executives and members who supported and stood by him during the 2023 gubernatorial election in Benue.

He stated, “Given the current unfortunate turmoil and widespread confusion that have affected the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) on various fronts, and in line with the provisions of the 2022 NNPP Constitution (as amended), I officially withdraw my membership from the NNPP on this 26th day of August 2023.”

“To eliminate any doubts, I have duly informed the Chairperson of the Mbatyu NNPP Ward Executive Committee in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State about my decision to withdraw my NNPP membership.”
