“We are thrilled that you have chosen Lagos as your starting point for seeking blessings and acknowledging the support we provided. On behalf of the people and government of Lagos, I extend our congratulations to you. Your victory is for all Edo people, and I hope everyone will join hands with you to advance Edo State,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
He further assured Okpebholo that Lagos will provide access to its agencies and ideas that have driven its progress. “Lagos stands with you and will give you all the assistance you need to make your tenure as Governor of Edo State successful.”
Sanwo-Olu also called on the people of Edo to unite behind Okpebholo, urging other candidates to collaborate for the betterment of the state. “The election is over; now it’s time to work together for the progress of Edo. Only through collective effort can the people of Edo benefit.”
In response, Senator Okpebholo expressed gratitude for the support he received from Governor Sanwo-Olu during the election and looked forward to continued guidance. Accompanied by his deputy, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, and other key political figures, Okpebholo pledged to draw from Lagos’ successes and ensure Edo experiences a transformation under his leadership.
“We’re here to thank you, but also to tap into your experience. I ask that you continue to support me, as we aim to bring about meaningful development in Edo State,” Okpebholo said, extending a hand of fellowship to his political opponents.
He promised that Edo would witness significant transformation when he takes office on November 12, continuing from where Governor Obaseki leaves off.
