Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu has appealed for urgent assistance for a 15-year-old orphan reportedly found sleeping in an uncompleted building in Rivers State after allegedly being sent away by her guardian over a misplaced ₦1,000.

Gwamnishu raised the alarm in an online post, revealing that the teenager was discovered seeking shelter in an unfinished building along Amaechi School Road in Rumuosi, opposite Rumuagholu Junction.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the girl, who is originally from Cross River State, told the activist that she had been hawking drinks for a woman she was staying with before the woman allegedly chased her out over the missing money.

The activist expressed concern about the teenager’s safety, warning that her current living conditions expose her to serious risks and make urgent intervention necessary.

In his appeal, Gwamnishu called on women and concerned residents in Rivers State to assist the girl and help ensure she receives the necessary care and protection.

He explained that the teenager is an orphan and currently has no safe accommodation, having resorted to sleeping in the uncompleted structure.

The activist’s appeal has drawn attention to the vulnerability of children living without adequate family support and the dangers they face when left without shelter or protection.

He urged members of the public to come forward with assistance to ensure the young girl is rescued from the unsafe environment and provided with the support she urgently needs.
