Return My Phone, I’ll Pay You – Davido’s Aide Makes Desperate Appeal After Wedding Incident
Damilare Aladegbola, popularly known as Dre and an aide to Nigerian music star Davido, has sparked reactions online after threatening to curse waitresses who offer to clear his plate at social events following the reported disappearance of his phone at Zlatan Ibile’s wedding.
Dre made the remarks in an Instagram post on Monday, where he appealed to whoever took his phone during the wedding ceremony to return it, offering a cash reward in exchange.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the incident reportedly occurred on Saturday during the wedding of Zlatan Ibile and his bride, Davita Lamai, in Lagos. The ceremony attracted several celebrities and well-wishers, with Davido among the guests serving as part of the groom’s entourage.
Expressing frustration over the missing device, Dre appealed to the person in possession of the phone to return it, promising to provide money in appreciation.
“If na u carry my phone for Zlatan wedding, abeg return am, I go give you money please,” he wrote in Pidgin English.
He also alleged that phones were sometimes taken from tables when servers approached guests to clear their plates after meals. However, he did not provide evidence establishing who took his phone or confirm that a waitress was involved in its disappearance.
Reacting to the incident, Dre said he would no longer tolerate waitresses offering to clear his plate at parties, warning that he would respond with curses because he suspected the practice could be used to steal phones left on tables.
His comments have generated discussion on social media, with attention focused on the reported loss of his phone and his allegations about the conduct of event servers.
As of the time of the report, no further details had been provided about whether the phone had been recovered or whether anyone had been identified in connection with its disappearance.
