She shared her testimony during a Sunday service at Streams of Joy International Church, led by Pastor Jerry Eze.
Speaking to the congregation, Tonto revealed that she began smoking at the age of 13 and battled alcohol and masturbation for years, attributing her transformation to divine intervention.
She described her appearance at the altar as both a testimony and an act of thanksgiving, noting that she nearly withdrew due to concerns about her public image.
“I smoked since I was 13. God healed me from masturbation too. Even as a child, I experienced sexual intercourse in my dreams,” she said.
Tonto further recounted her struggle with what she described as demonic anger, a rage that negatively impacted her life and affected those around her. “But praying with NSPPD, God removed all of that and gave me peace,” she said.
Addressing her initial hesitation to share publicly, she added, “The devil tried to tell me to protect my image. But I told myself, what image? The God who gave me this image is the same God who can take it away.”
Reflecting on her freedom from masturbation, Tonto explained that attending the Ghana Prayer Conference marked a turning point, breaking what she called years of spiritual oppression. “I realized that the weak man who held me captive all those years in my dreams ran away,” she said.
She emphasized the peace she now experiences: “I am 40 years old, and I can honestly say I have never known peace until now. I am living in it.”
Tonto also disclosed that her smoking habit lasted about 27 years, a habit she attributed to exposure at home. She used her experience to urge parents to protect children from harmful influences.
“I started smoking because my dad smoked. Something as small as that habit can affect the lives of children. Today, my body does not crave it; it rejects it. It is completely broken,” she stated.
