FIJ’s groundbreaking investigation, titled ‘Undercover as a Smuggler’, has unearthed shocking revelations, sparking vehement denials and dubious counterarguments from Dende and his associates. In the wake of FIJ’s expose, Dende vehemently denied any involvement in smuggling, accusing FIJ of engaging in character assassination.

The controversy further intensified when FIJ obtained video footage capturing Dende’s heated altercation with a Customs officer identified as Rotimi. In the video, an enraged Dende can be heard issuing threats against Rotimi, invoking dire consequences.

Further investigation by FIJ uncovered alarming details about the widespread corruption within the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), implicating high-ranking officials, including Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi and Comptroller Hussein Ejigbunu.

Expressing his views through his X handle, Rufai remarked, “If Anini were still alive in modern Nigeria, he would probably hold a political office, of that I am too sure.”

It is worth noting that the current Governor of Ogun State has a controversial past, having been a former criminal who was once convicted in the USA for multiple fraud-related offenses.
