A Nigerian doctor has expressed frustration over the rising cost of living in the country, revealing that her profession has not shielded her from the financial pressure affecting many citizens.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the doctor shared her concerns in an emotional social media post, where she explained that she now has to carefully consider expenses that might ordinarily be viewed as basic lifestyle purchases.

The woman said she had found herself wondering whether she would be able to afford a gym membership in the coming month, while also questioning whether purchasing Greek yoghurt would be a wise financial decision.

Expressing her frustration with the country’s economic situation, she said, “I hate this country so much. I hate everything about it. I’m a freaking doctor, but I’m here debating if I can afford to pay for the gym next month.”

She further revealed that even seemingly minor purchases had become expenses requiring serious financial consideration, highlighting the pressure faced by working professionals as the cost of goods and services continues to rise.

The doctor also reflected on her changing spending habits by revealing that she had not consumed Malta Guinness for about two weeks. “Do you know the last time I drank Malta Guinness? Two weeks ago,” she stated.
