The actor made the announcement in a video currently circulating on social media, revealing that he plans to run for the Bwari/AMAC Federal Constituency in Abuja under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

“I’m running for the Federal House of Representatives under Bwari/AMAC Constituency in Abuja, and we want to make a federal statement,” he said.

Speaking on what he hopes to achieve if elected, Emeka Ike said he wants to move beyond entertaining Nigerians and contribute directly to changing the country’s political system.

“If I’ve made you happy as Nigerians, I want to step into the real thing right now. Let’s block those boys who think they own power.

“Let’s stand up, take power, and rearrange our country. We don’t deserve to be begging,” he stated.

The actor also urged Nigerians to become more politically active, particularly by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

“I’m not angry at our politicians anymore; they’ve already shown they don’t care about us. I’m angry at Nigerians. Go and collect your PVCs. That’s the only noise we need right now,” he added.

Meanwhile, Nigerian socialite and businessman Okechukwu Pascal, popularly known as Chief Priest, has denied reports claiming he lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency in Imo State.

Chief Priest made the clarification in a statement posted on his Instagram page on Sunday, contradicting an earlier viral video where he expressed disappointment over allegedly receiving only 14 votes and regretting “trusting the elders in the community.”

According to him, he never took part in the primary election after the APC leadership adopted a zoning arrangement for the constituency.

He explained that the party’s decision was communicated to him in the early hours of Saturday before the exercise commenced, adding that he did not appear at the venue of the primary.

Chief Priest further reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and his continued support for President Bola Tinubu’s reelection bid in 2027.

In the statement, he disclosed that after consultations with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma and other party leaders, it was agreed that the seat should remain in Orlu Local Government Area for another term before rotating elsewhere.

He noted that although he believed the current lawmaker had not fully met the expectations of the people, he respected the party’s zoning arrangement and decided not to proceed with the contest.

“In respect for the party and its leadership, I chose not to proceed to the field, and indeed, I never did. Nobody will say they saw me anywhere around the primaries venue,” he stated.

Chief Priest described claims surrounding his alleged defeat as misinformation and social media propaganda aimed at dragging his name into controversy.

He maintained that he has no regrets about showing interest in the position, insisting that his aspiration was driven by a genuine desire to serve his constituency.

The celebrity businessman also urged his supporters and members of the “City Boy Movement” to remain calm and loyal to the APC, promising to continue mobilising support for President Tinubu and the Renewed Hope agenda.

“The APC remains my party, today and always. I remain loyal and committed to the ideals and leadership of our great party,” he added.
