The directive was revealed by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, who briefed journalists after a closed-door meeting between the President and the service chiefs at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.
As earlier reported by Naija News, the meeting was convened as an emergency security session.
According to General Oluyede, the discussion was extensive, with the President issuing new instructions aimed at delivering improved outcomes in the war against insecurity nationwide.
He assured Nigerians that security agencies are collaborating closely to ensure a peaceful and safe festive season.
Present at the meeting were the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General W. Shaibu; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral I. Abbas; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke; Chief of Defence Intelligence, Lt. General Emmanuel Undiandeye; Director-General of the DSS, Adeola Ajayi; and Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
Meanwhile, President Tinubu also announced a ₦200 million donation to the Nigerian Legion during the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem Appeal launch at the Presidential Villa, as disclosed in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, donated ₦100 million on behalf of the National Assembly, while the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, contributed ₦20 million.
The President reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting serving military personnel, injured officers, and the families of fallen heroes.
