According to Itua, this gesture reflects Governor Okpebholo’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of workers and pensioners. It also aligns with his administration’s people-first governance approach, ensuring that economic challenges do not prevent citizens from observing important religious and cultural festivities.
He further noted that the Okpebholo administration has consistently exhibited fiscal responsibility and transparency in the management of public resources—enabling it to meet financial obligations to both active and retired personnel despite the nation’s economic difficulties.
Reaffirming the governor’s dedication to improving the well-being of Edo residents, Itua stated that initiatives that directly impact citizens’ lives will continue to take top priority.
“Governor Monday Okpebholo remains firmly focused on the welfare of Edo’s workforce and pensioners. The early payment of April salaries and pensions is a clear demonstration of this, particularly as our Christian community prepares to celebrate Easter.
“We recognize the importance of Easter in the lives of our people, and we want both workers and senior citizens to mark the season with dignity and peace of mind. This is a small token of appreciation for their dedication and service to the state,” he added.
