Kwara reverberated with rare spiritual applause as the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Ilorin, conferred its coveted Peace Ambassador Award on Senator Saliu Mustapha, the lawmaker representing Kwara Central and the Turaki of Ilorin Emirate.
At the 38th Annual Harvest Thanksgiving of CAC Alabukun Headquarters, Ita-Alamu, the church leadership did not mince words: Senator Mustapha is the new gold standard for interfaith harmony in Kwara State.
Prophet (Dr.) Michael Olaosebikan Adio, presenting the award on behalf of the church, praised the senator’s “open-hearted leadership, fairness without borders, and unwavering commitment to unity.” The church declared that while many preach tolerance, Mustapha actually practices it.
Despite being a Muslim, Senator Mustapha has consistently supported Christian programmes and strengthened interfaith relationships in a state where harmony is priceless. The church described his philanthropic engagements as “labours of love” rooted in compassion, justice, and a genuine desire for peaceful coexistence.
Quoting scripture, the church reminded the congregation: “How good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity.” They added that by his actions, Mustapha has become a living reflection of that timeless verse.
This is not the first time the Christian community is recognising him. Earlier this year, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kwara State chapter, held a special Easter Monday prayer session for the senator, celebrating his goodwill toward Christian communities and praying for divine guidance in his public service.
Across Kwara, Senator Saliu Mustapha is increasingly seen as the rare bridge-builder who rises above religious labels and speaks the universal language of peace, unity, and humanity.
In an era of division, he has become Kwara’s quiet anchor of harmony — a leader for all, a friend to all, and now, officially, the Peace Ambassador of the State.
