The letter highlighted a disturbing trend where powerful individuals within Nanka were allegedly suppressing the majority for upholding truth and transparency. Numerous incidents of killings and attempted assassinations were cited, with the community expressing alarm at the apparent pattern of obstructing police investigations following each violent incident.

Among the tragic incidents mentioned was the murder of 25-year-old Mr. Toochukwu Onyemelukwe in Enugwu Nanka Village square. The motive behind this killing was attributed to Onyemelukwe’s association with the opposing faction of the village union, the Enugwu Nanka Village Development Union, which stood in opposition to the faction controlled by influential figures.

The letter detailed the perilous situation faced by Mr. Martin Okeke, who bravely reported Onyemelukwe’s murder to the police. Okeke has allegedly encountered numerous assassination attempts as a consequence of his cooperation with law enforcement.

The community leaders also drew attention to the recent killing of politician Mr. Joe Mohale by unknown gunmen, shortly after he associated with Hon. Princess Chinwe Nnabuife, the representative for Orumba North and South Federal constituency in the House of Representatives. The community suggested that Mohale’s fate may have been influenced by a warning against associating with the said politician.

Enugwu Nanka residents urgently called upon Governor Soludo to initiate a thorough investigation into the series of killings and the underlying reasons for the factionalism within the town union. The community expressed concerns about the potential collapse of their town if the current factional disputes were not addressed promptly. Additionally, they appealed for the police to be allowed to conduct unbiased investigations into the crimes transpiring in Nanka, emphasizing the need to ensure justice prevails.
