According to Munju, she was recruited through an online platform and offered $10,000 Canadian dollars to successfully deliver the consignment to Lagos. She confessed to the NDLEA that she accepted the risky offer because she needed the money to finance her ongoing master’s degree program in Canada. Munju expressed remorse, claiming that financial pressures drove her to accept the drug trafficking job.

The NDLEA has launched a full investigation into the case to uncover the broader network involved in the trafficking operation. The agency continues to warn the public against the lure of quick money through illegal means, emphasizing the severe penalties associated with drug trafficking in Nigeria. Munju is currently in custody and facing charges that could lead to a lengthy prison sentence if convicted.
