Previously reported by BUSHRADIOGIST, the WIP, through its Executive Director, Lamina Omotoyosi, held a press conference in Osogbo, demanding that JUSUN and the striking judiciary workers in the state return to work within seven days or face legal consequences. Omotoyosi claimed that the strike had disrupted judicial processes and infringed upon citizens’ right to a fair and timely trial.

In response, Idris Adeniran, the Secretary of Osun JUSUN, issued a counter statement, refuting Omotoyosi’s assertion that the national secretariat of JUSUN did not support the strike. Adeniran emphasized the union’s commitment to combating the oppression and dehumanization of its members.

Adeniran acknowledged the state government’s plea for the workers to resume duties, contingent upon the payment of the 2023 wardrobe allowance and assurances that the Chief Judge’s oppression would cease. He found it amusing that the WIP did not engage in widespread consultation before intervening in the matter, emphasizing that the Osun JUSUN chapter had the full support of the national headquarters.

Expressing concern over the WIP’s lack of awareness regarding the persecution of JUSUN members, Adeniran affirmed the union’s determination to confront oppression. While sympathizing with those affected by the court disruptions, the union thanked the Osun State Government for intervening in the salary deprivation issue and assured that the government’s plea would be considered once the stipulated conditions were met.In conclusion, Adeniran reiterated JUSUN’s resoluteness in addressing the challenges faced by its members, emphasizing the importance of securing their rights and fair treatment.
