Governor Yusuf emphasized that each of the senatorial districts will host one of these mega primary schools, equipped with modern learning materials to enhance the quality of education at the grassroots level. In addition to this initiative, the government has earmarked N6 billion for the renovation of all primary schools, aiming to create conducive learning environments for students.

Furthermore, Governor Yusuf highlighted the government’s commitment to the renovation of 26 Special Institutions initiated by former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso. Among these, 17 have already been successfully refurbished, signaling an end to the era where students had to endure lessons on bare floors.

The governor reiterated the administration’s dedication to providing essential learning facilities, ensuring that young pupils have a conducive atmosphere for effective teaching and learning. Notable investments include N500 million for the construction of a hostel at Aliko University Wudil and an additional N150 million for the newly established Environmental and Climate Department at Maitama Sule University.

The State Polytechnic and Management Institution also received substantial funding, exceeding N500 million for the introduction of new courses at Wudil and Yusuf Maitama Sule University. Furthermore, various educational institutions, including Kano Islamic Legal Studies, benefited from payments totaling over N100 million for the registration of their new courses.

Governor Yusuf underscored the government’s commitment to supporting the education of Kano State students abroad, noting that approximately 93% of tuition fees for 501 Masters students in India and other foreign countries have been settled. Additionally, their four months’ upkeep allowances have been disbursed, enabling them to focus on their studies.

The governor concluded by stating that the government had also fulfilled its financial obligations by paying N700 million in registration fees for Kano State students studying at Bayero University, Kano. Additionally, N1.5 billion was disbursed for the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO) exam fees for state secondary school students. These initiatives reflect the state’s unwavering commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and facilitating access to quality education for its citizens.
