Kidnapped Catholic Priest And Church Members Regain Freedom In Cross Rivers

A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Peter Abang Ochang, and church members kidnapped last week, have been released.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

 

Fr. Ochang, who is the chaplain of RCM Parish in the Alok Catholic Diocese of Ogoja in Cross River State, was kidnapped somewhere in Nasarawa State.

 

He, alongside several members of St Jude Society, was traveling to Abuja on Thursday, November 24, 2022, for important church events when they were waylaid and taken into the bush.

 

The news of their kidnap was broken during morning Mass on Friday by Rev Fr Dr. Fidelis Kajibia, the Administrator of St Benedict’s Cathedral, Igoli Ogoja.

 

The Chairman of the Diocesan Education Board, Catholic Diocese of Ogoja, Peter Nandi Bette, also confirmed the abduction.

 

Facebook user, Bankong Regina, confirmed the release in a Facebook post on Sunday, November 27, 2022, but didn’t give details.

 

It was gathered that their abductors had demanded N30m ransom for their release.
