The Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has taken his campaign for greater international attention to violence affecting communities in the state to Israel.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Dachomo arrived in Israel on Friday, October 2, 2026, as part of what he described as his first international Christian advocacy tour.

The cleric said he intended to use the visit to draw the attention of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other international leaders to the killings and insecurity affecting Plateau State and other parts of Nigeria. He is also expected to participate in meetings with Christian leaders and prayer groups from different countries.

Dachomo said his decision to travel to Israel was motivated by what he described as the need to ensure that the international community pays greater attention to attacks affecting Christian communities in Plateau State and the wider Middle Belt.

He also referenced recent statements by United States President Donald Trump concerning attacks on Christians in Nigeria, saying he believed it was important to raise the issue with the Israeli leadership as well.

The Plateau cleric said he hoped to meet Netanyahu personally and present his account of the situation facing communities affected by violence in the region. He said he would also use the opportunity to pray for Nigerians affected by insecurity, including both Christians and Muslims.

Dachomo further alleged that the Nigerian government had not done enough to address what he described as the persecution and killing of Christians. He compared the government’s position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with its response to insecurity in Nigeria and argued that greater attention should be given to victims of violence within the country.

He also spoke about attacks he said had affected his own community, alleging that suspected Fulani terrorists invaded his village and killed three people within his jurisdiction.

During his visit, Dachomo said prayer warriors and Christian leaders from countries including the United States, Canada, France and Spain would join him in prayer and advocacy activities focused on Nigeria and other nations.

He said his message would extend beyond Christians, noting that he intended to pray for Muslims killed in parts of northern Nigeria and other Nigerians affected by violence.

The cleric’s trip comes amid continued international debate over the nature and scale of religiously motivated violence in Nigeria. While Dachomo and some Christian advocates have described attacks in parts of the Middle Belt as persecution or genocide against Christians, the broader causes and identities of perpetrators in Nigeria’s complex security crisis remain subjects of debate.

It remains unclear whether Dachomo will secure a private meeting with Netanyahu, but reports indicate that he plans to use his time in Israel to engage Christian groups and draw international attention to the security situation in Plateau State and other parts of Nigeria.
