Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State disclosed this information over the weekend during a meeting with aspirants proposed by the Kingmakers committee in Kogi Central. The committee, tasked with the responsibility, had shortlisted seven candidates for consideration by the state government, with the eventual appointee set to assume the revered position.
Among the aspirants are notable figures such as the former Deputy Governor of the state, Dr. Philip Salawu; former Clerk of the National Assembly, Barrister Ataba Sani Omolori; and Gen. Yusuf Abubakar Amuda. Additional candidates include Barr. Momoh Shaibu, Prof. Ibrahim Onuwe Abdulmalik, HRH Dr. Ahmad Tijani Anaje, and Mr. Ahmed Momohjimoh.
Governor Bello took the opportunity to appeal to the aspirants competing for the prestigious role in Kogi Central Senatorial District to lend their support to whomever the government appoints, emphasizing that all candidates were qualified for the position. He also cautioned against any divisive statements or actions that could potentially disrupt the peace in the region.
