The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported in November 2022 that more than 133 million Nigerians are currently living in poverty, constituting 63 percent of the country’s population. The challenges extend beyond income, with issues such as inadequate sanitation, limited access to healthcare, food insecurity, and housing deficiencies prevalent among the impoverished.
