Massive Bust: Police Force Strikes Criminal Syndicates, Saves 302 Lives, Recovers Firearms

The Force recently arrested 179 armed robbery suspects, 100 kidnapping suspects, 152 individuals connected to homicide, 34 for illegal firearms possession, 77 for rape, and 110 suspected cultists. Additionally, 73 firearms, 310 rounds of ammunition, and 56 stolen vehicles were recovered, while 22 kidnapped victims were successfully rescued.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi highlighted the Force’s commitment to employing advanced crime-fighting strategies and ensuring national security.
Key cases discussed at the FID-IRT headquarters included the arrest of 36-year-old Muhammed Kabir and his accomplices, Donald Okpere and Haruna Ibrahim, for impersonating military personnel and defrauding victims of millions using fake payment alerts to acquire gadgets and medical equipment.
Another success involved the capture of Sunday Okwo Ade, Monday Solomon, David Emmanuel, and Shakiru Badmus, a gang notorious for stealing motorcycles from farmers in Lagos and Ogun States. The operation resulted in the recovery of 15 stolen motorcycles.
Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun reaffirmed the NPF’s steadfast commitment to its core mission of protecting lives and property. He emphasized the Force’s resolve to create a secure environment where citizens can live and work without fear and reiterated its determination to pursue criminals relentlessly and uphold justice in accordance with the law.
