In the backdrop of the recent Edo State Local Government Election, the results have proven to be a tough pill to swallow for the Labour Party (LP), especially after the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, graced Edo with his presence in the days leading up to the election. It’s quite ironic that during Peter Obi’s tenure as a governor in Anambra State, local government elections weren’t held for seven consecutive years. But his active participation and campaigning in Edo’s LG elections couldn’t secure a win for the Labour Party in any local government.
