According to Naija News, the federal government has raised the monthly allowance for members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000, effective July 2024.
In her statement, the Minister highlighted that this increase is a direct reflection of her ministry’s dedication to improving youth welfare in the country. “The President’s vision for Nigerian youth has always been clear—he supports any initiative that enhances their welfare and prospects. This allowance increase exemplifies that commitment, and the Ministry is delighted to see it come to fruition,” Ibrahim said.
She added that the rise in allowance is not merely a reaction to economic pressures but is part of a strategic agenda aimed at improving the working conditions for young Nigerians, ensuring they are well-prepared to contribute to national development. “This increase is just one of many initiatives that the Ministry of Youth Development will continue to pursue to enhance the lives of our youth,” she concluded.
