My Daughter Is No Murderer!’ – Prophetess Naomi’s Mother Breaks Down Over Ibadan Stampede Allegations (Video)
The mother of Prophetess Naomi Ogunseyi, the ex-wife of the Ooni of Ife, has urgently called on Nigerians to assist her daughter, who is currently facing charges related to the tragic death of 35 children during a funfair in Ibadan, Oyo State, last week.
On Tuesday, December 24, a Chief Magistrate Court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, ordered that Naomi and two others be remanded in connection with the stampede that occurred at Bashorun Islamic High School. Naomi had organized a children’s funfair in Ibadan, which ended in a devastating stampede, resulting in the loss of 35 young lives.
In a heartfelt video shared on social media, Naomi’s distressed mother pleaded with Nigerians for support.
“Please help me! What my daughter did in Ibadan was a good thing. It’s not the first time she has organized such events. For over ten years, she has been dedicated to helping children, the elderly, and even pregnant women. I understand the pain of those who lost their children, and I sympathize with them deeply,” she said.
“Please, Nigerians, come to my aid! Don’t let them imprison Naomi. Have mercy on us! Help free Naomi, my child. She is innocent! Very innocent! Please, help me! She didn’t know anything about this tragedy!”
She explained that the stampede occurred around 6:30 a.m., hours before the funfair was set to begin. She also revealed that Naomi and the other defendants were taken to court ‘secretly,’ and one of the charges against her daughter is murder.
