The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State has challenged Governor Caleb Mutfwang to publicly name those who allegedly pressured him to abandon the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the APC.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Governor Mutfwang had earlier claimed that certain individuals had urged him to defect, adding that many within the APC would gladly welcome him if he decided to join their ranks.

He stated, “It’s true that they pressured me, but I told them only two authorities can permit me to change parties — the God of heaven and you, the people.”

Reacting to the statement, the APC’s Acting Publicity Secretary in Plateau State, Shittu Bamaiyi, argued that such talks of defection would not even arise if Mutfwang’s administration had delivered satisfactorily to the people.

Bamaiyi further challenged the governor to disclose the identities of those behind the alleged pressure, saying: “If he truly means well for his supporters and the state, he should boldly reveal who tried to convince him to join the APC.”

He added that it was unfortunate for a sitting governor to be rejected by an opposition party, noting that the APC’s refusal to embrace him “is a major indictment on his leadership and popularity.”
