Nasarawa Police Apprehend Notorious Phone Snatcher Seize 71 SIM Cards

The arrest followed a complaint lodged at the ‘A’ Division, Lafia of the Nigeria Police, reporting a break-in at a residence behind Sabo Garage, Lafia. The thieves made away with three mobile phones and a power bank. Subsequently, police operatives from the mentioned Division conducted a thorough investigation, leading to the apprehension of Zahraddeen Ja’afaru at his residence in Angwan Jaba, Lafia. A search warrant was executed, resulting in the recovery of four stolen phones and a power bank.

The statement also revealed the discovery of seventy-one (71) SIM cards from various network service providers in the suspect’s possession.

The arrested individual, Zahraddeen Ja’afaru, confessed to being responsible for a series of house-breaking, theft, and snatching of handsets from the public in Lafia and its environs, according to the police spokesperson.

In response to the arrest, the Commissioner of Police for Nasarawa State, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, has instructed the Divisional Police Officer to pursue the apprehension of the suspect’s accomplices, ensuring their arrest and subsequent legal action following the conclusion of the ongoing investigation.
