The Super Eagles secured a 4-2 victory over the Bafana Bafana in a penalty shootout after the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Nigeria’s goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, who was awarded the Man of the Match title, made two crucial saves during the shootout.
In response, Napoli, in a tweet from its official account, congratulated @victorosimhen9 and @NGSuperEagles on advancing to the final of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations.
Similarly, Fulham celebrated their players, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, who are part of the Super Eagles squad, by tweeting, “Our boys are #AFCON2023 finalists #SoarSuperEagles #LetsDoItAgain.”
Brentford also joined in the celebration, stating, “The Tank keeps on rolling. Frank is heading to the AFCON Final after Nigeria’s penalty shootout victory over South Africa.”
Additionally, Atalanta tweeted, “@Alookman_ and @NGSuperEagles are #AFCON2023 finalists.”
Nigeria is set to face Ivory Coast in the final match scheduled for Sunday.
