Umar praised the workers for their resilience and commitment in the face of challenges, stating, “In times of disaster, your ability to stay calm and focused on the needs of those affected is invaluable. The stories of lives saved and communities rebuilt reflect your dedication to service.”

She emphasized the transformative role of technology in emergency management, highlighting tools such as early warning systems and disaster mapping. “Let us embrace innovation to improve our processes and serve the public better,” she encouraged.

Teamwork was also a focal point in her message, with Umar underscoring the need for collaboration across departments and with partners to effectively address complex emergencies. “By supporting one another, we can achieve greater success in our mission. As we celebrate Customer Service Week, let us reaffirm our commitment to excellence, innovation, and teamwork. Together, we will build a stronger, more responsive agency ready to serve the nation in times of need,” she added.

Dr. Onimode Bandele, the Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics, reaffirmed the staff’s commitment to intensifying their efforts in achieving the agency’s goals, emphasizing that increased efforts would enhance the effectiveness and impact of their initiatives.

Mr. Bello Danlami, the Information Officer of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, commended NEMA for its high-quality services, noting, “Your efforts significantly impact the lives of countless individuals in Nigeria, ensuring their safety during difficult times. At UNOCHA, we recognize the importance of customer service in humanitarian aid and applaud your professionalism and dedication. Additionally, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli, the National Coordinator of the Service Compact with All Nigerians, represented by SERVICOM Officer Ms. Rebecca Abah, praised NEMA for its initiative and stressed the importance of customer service. Akajemeli pointed out that prioritizing customers’ diverse needs is essential and highlighted the necessity of preparing communities for potential emergencies. “Going ‘Above and Beyond’ in meeting customer needs requires everyone’s commitment, from the front desk to top management. We must work together to ensure quality service for all citizens,” she concluded.
