A newly married woman has reportedly found herself at the centre of a troubling situation barely a month after her wedding following her decision to attend a birthday celebration in Lagos despite objections from her husband.

According to the account, the couple reside in Abeokuta, Ogun State, while the birthday party was organised by one of the woman’s close friends in Victoria Island, Lagos. The woman’s husband reportedly expressed concerns about her travelling to another state so soon after their wedding, suggesting that she should take things easy and avoid unnecessary trips.

However, the woman reportedly viewed her husband’s objection as an attempt to restrict her freedom and control her movements. Despite discussions between the couple, she eventually travelled from Abeokuta to Lagos to attend the celebration.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the situation reportedly took an unexpected turn when the birthday party was allegedly raided. The woman and some other attendees were said to have been found with substances allegedly identified as codeine, cannabis and Rohypnol tablets. However, the identity of the agency that allegedly carried out the raid was not disclosed, and the claims surrounding the substances could not be independently verified.

Following the reported incident, the newlywed allegedly contacted her husband and informed him about what had happened. Rather than acknowledging her as his wife, the husband reportedly denied knowing her and allegedly claimed that he had no idea who she was.
