During the lecture, the Vice President underscored the importance of conducting a realistic assessment of the nation’s assets and liabilities. He stated, “Going by the amount of arable land, water resources, and the size of our humanity, Nigeria has no reason not to be among the ten richest countries today.”

Shettima pointed out that Nigeria’s current position near the bottom highlights the need to harness the nation’s potential effectively. He emphasized that having potential alone is insufficient, and the failure to utilize that potential is akin to a virtual death sentence for any living entity.

The Vice President stressed that Nigeria possesses the resources necessary to feed its large population, develop a thriving agricultural industry, and supply extensive markets with agricultural produce. He envisioned technology extracting the greatest value from these resources.

Looking ahead, Shettima projected a population of about 450 million people in Nigeria within 25 years. Of this population, approximately 100 million would be actively engaged in economic activities. He emphasized the need for a visionary and sustained collaboration between technology and raw assets to ensure optimal productivity among this active workforce, stating, “We believe this can and must be done.”
