Human rights lawyer and Convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, expressed profound grief over the tragic incident that resulted in the loss of lives of several military personnel, including the Commanding Officer, two majors, one captain, and twelve soldiers from the 181 Amphibious Battalion. In a statement issued to the press, Adeyanju condemned the heinous act and urged Nigerian authorities to diligently pursue justice for the victims.

The incident occurred during a communal crisis between the Okuama and Okoloba communities in the Bomadi local government area of Delta State, where sixteen soldiers were attacked by youths. Adeyanju lamented the loss of these brave individuals who were on a peacekeeping mission, highlighting their commitment to serving the country and restoring peace to the troubled region.
