No Disrespect Intended’ – Former Oyetola Aide Clarifies Adeleke And Tinubu Interaction

Fashola explained that the exchange was never intended to disparage Governor Adeleke but was aimed at ensuring the event concluded on schedule so attendees could return home safely.
In a post on her verified Facebook account, Fashola highlighted that the gathering included numerous dignitaries, including over 29 wives of state governors, many traveling from distant parts of the North. With the evening drawing in and visibility decreasing, she said Tinubu’s insistence on timely proceedings was both practical and necessary.
Fashola noted that the First Lady’s apparent agitation was motivated by concern for the orderly departure of the guests. She wrote:
“The exchange between Governor Adeleke and Her Excellency, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, CON, was not intended to disparage the Governor but to ensure judicious use of time.
Her Excellency’s apparent agitation arose from concern for the early departure of over 29 wives of various state governors and other dignitaries, many of whom had traveled from the far north.
With time running short and visibility worsening toward evening, she had to remind the Governor to be mindful of the schedule. It was light-hearted and not as serious as some have portrayed.
Even Her Excellency requested indulgence from all guests to skip protocol during her speech so that everyone could return safely to their destinations.
Considering that helicopter visibility at night is minimal, her reminders were sensible. Congratulations once again to our Yeye Asiwaju of all Oodua lands and territories.”
