In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Dr Honour Sirawoo, described the claim as false, provocative, and misleading.
Sirawoo said the state government has no policy, instruction, or intention that undermines President Tinubu or the authority of the Federal Government.
He reaffirmed that Governor Fubara maintains a strong and cooperative relationship with the Federal Government, particularly with President Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda, which he noted is already yielding positive outcomes for Rivers State.
According to the statement, the governor and the state government currently enjoy an even more robust partnership with the Federal Government and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Sirawoo also rejected suggestions that the alleged action amounted to disrespect or ingratitude, stressing that such claims are unfounded and unsupported by any verifiable evidence.
He expressed concern over the conduct of the youth council, accusing it of straying from its unifying mandate by engaging in personal attacks and inflammatory rhetoric at a time when the state requires calm and responsible dialogue.
The Permanent Secretary urged members of the public, especially young people in the state, to ignore and distance themselves from individuals spreading divisive narratives and falsehoods for political purposes.
He emphasized that Rivers State belongs to all its residents and that political disagreements must not override truth, civility, and the shared pursuit of peace and development.
Sirawoo further advised the public to remain cautious of incendiary statements and not allow themselves to be used by those he described as fifth columnists seeking to sow division.
