The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, exuded confidence as he asserted that no one could rival his political faction in the upcoming 2027 elections. Wike made these remarks during a thanksgiving service hosted by Senator Barinada Mpigi in Koroma, Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State on Sunday.
Emphasizing the strength of his political alliance, Wike stated, “With the formidable forces we have, I don’t see anyone capable of challenging us. It feels as though tomorrow is already 2027. Although it seems distant to me, I eagerly anticipate it. The leadership unity in our party is unparalleled; both the APC and PDP leaderships are present. Where else can you find such unity? Only in Rivers can you witness this solidarity.”
Wike highlighted the uniqueness of Rivers State, where the leading party secures the presidential victory, while the opposition claims the national assembly in an election conducted simultaneously. He remarked, “This is extraordinary.”
The minister also called for support for President Bola Tinubu’s economic reform policies, acknowledging the challenges in swiftly transforming the nation’s fortunes. Wike expressed optimism, saying, “God, in His infinite mercies, will continue to grant us the strength to collaborate in supporting Mr. President. Many people in this country are hasty and fail to reflect on the past. We face challenges, but have we considered how things were yesterday? If we exercise patience, we will eventually reach our desired destination through the decisions of Mr. President.”
Dignitaries present at the event included Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Works Dave Umahi, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Martin Amaewhule, and other prominent figures.
