Three individuals were apprehended near the House on the Rock Church Junction, Airport Road, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for possession of fiber cables that were determined to be government property.
According to a statement issued by Okomanyi Comfort, the spokesperson for the Command, the suspects were captured by the NSCDC FCT Command Patrol team following intelligence reports indicating that some criminals were masquerading as engineers and engaging in cable-related activities with the intention of vandalizing and stealing cables….CONTINUE READING
During the presentation of the suspects, Olusola Odumosu, the FCT Commandant of NSCDC, expressed strong disapproval of the extent of vandalism and infrastructure destruction occurring in the FCT. He pledged to escalate efforts to combat criminals and vandals who are defacing the capital territory.
Odumosu emphasized, “We are determined to eradicate vandalism in the FCT. It’s a positive sign that you’re witnessing the results of our revitalized patrol teams. We will step up our actions to identify and apprehend all culprits, and more arrests will follow in due course.”
The FCT Commandant disclosed that the Command is collaborating with other security agencies operating within the FCT. He added that, collectively, they are dedicated to purging the FCT of criminal activities and ensuring comprehensive security.
He also praised the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for his policy directives in the FCT, which the NSCDC has embraced to enhance service delivery to all residents.
The three suspects taken into custody are as follows: Peter Kile, a 27-year-old male from Vandeikya Local Government Area (LGA) in Benue State; Akanuge Sammel, a 27-year-old male from Konshisha LGA in Benue State, and Justin Tundu, a 31-year-old male also from Konshisha LGA in Benue State.
