The backlash was triggered after the university officially confirmed that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was a student at the institution in 1979. This revelation ruffled the feathers of many supporters from the Labour Party, prompting them to take to the internet and inundate the university’s Twitter page with aggressive comments, which in turn compelled the page’s handler to secure the account.
It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first instance of such cyberbullying from the same faction. A few months ago, journalist Astha Rajvanshi locked her Twitter account after facing significant online harassment from the movement, following her article on Tinubu published in Times Magazine.
