Olanipekun criticized the 1999 Constitution, labeling it a counterfeit document responsible for the numerous challenges facing the country. He emphasized the need for a more humane constitution, expressing dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs where governors frequently visit Abuja to meet lower-ranking officials rather than fostering true federalism.

As a lawyer, Olanipekun acknowledged the paradox of practicing a constitution he deemed fake but stressed that legal professionals adhere to existing laws, not necessarily endorsing their merit. He recounted an encounter with Obasanjo in 2022, where the former president vehemently opposed constitutional changes. Despite Olanipekun’s plea to President Obasanjo and a subsequent appeal to the current President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he emphasized the urgency of restructuring the country to retain the diaspora population and address critical issues.

Olanipekun highlighted the grim situation in Nigeria, citing the alarming violence against traditional leaders, including the recent slaying of two Obas in Ekiti. He pointed out that such unrest discourages Nigerians abroad from returning, emphasizing the need for job opportunities, a robust economy, and a supportive government system to ensure a better future for the younger generation.
