Only God Decides 2027!” – Gov Yusuf Breaks Silence On His Political Future

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has said that his political future ahead of the 2027 general elections rests solely in God’s hands, emphasizing that leadership is not determined by human efforts but by divine will.

The governor made the remarks during the inauguration of the Shura Council, the state’s highest advisory body, held at the Government House in Kano.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, Yusuf recalled his turbulent journey after the 2023 elections, noting that many had written him off before providence elevated him to the governorship.

“I faced the toughest challenges of my life after the 2023 elections,” he said. “But through those trials and tears, I remained committed to serving Kano. I am here today because of God, not because of any individual.”

He added: “Leadership is never in the hands of man. God installs and removes leaders as He wishes.”

The governor stressed that his administration would not be distracted by political speculations about 2027 but would stay focused on initiatives that improve the lives of the people.

“Whether I contest again or not, my duty is to continue delivering meaningful programmes that benefit the electorate,” Yusuf affirmed.

Acknowledging the temporary nature of power, he said: “I know that one day I will leave this seat. That is why I am working hard now to transform Kano physically, socially, and morally.”

Expressing concern over the plight of youths in the state, the governor identified drug abuse, thuggery, and other vices as serious threats to their future.

As part of his response, Yusuf announced the creation of a new reformatory institution for women, designed to rehabilitate victims of drug abuse and other social problems.

He also appealed to religious leaders to support the government’s reform agenda, stressing that clerics hold a critical role in shaping society.
