Timothy Osadolor, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has stressed the urgent need for opposition parties to come together to save Nigeria from what he referred to as the misrule of the All Progressives Congress (APC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In an interview with Daily Trust, Osadolor emphasized that the coalition discussions among opposition parties should be driven by the necessity to secure Nigeria’s future, not just for political convenience. He said, “This coalition must serve the interest and survival of Nigeria. Nigerians have realized that the APC cannot be ousted without unity among all opposition leaders and parties.”
Osadolor further explained that the APC has become so entrenched in the political system that no single party could challenge it on its own. “The APC is so entrenched that no one political party can confront it without collaboration. Therefore, political leaders must unite to give Nigeria a fresh start in 2027.”
He expressed strong confidence that the APC could be defeated in the next election, believing that Nigerians who wish for change are determined to remove the ruling party. “I see no reason why the APC should not be defeated in 2027. Nigerians of goodwill are firm in their resolve that the APC must go. It is our duty to the nation,” he stated.
While acknowledging that the PDP might not be leading the coalition talks at the moment, Osadolor made it clear that the party would be fully involved when the discussions progress. He emphasized that for any coalition to succeed, it must be built on terms agreed upon by all parties. “The PDP insists that any coalition must be based on agreed terms, with all stakeholders involved. No one can sideline the PDP in coalition talks, because it is, without a doubt, the largest political party in Nigeria, and arguably in West Africa,” he said.
Osadolor concluded by reaffirming the PDP’s commitment to participating in and leading any meaningful coalition. “The PDP will not only be part of the coalition talks but will take the lead in any substantial coalition. That is our position,” he affirmed.
