Over 280,000 Traffic Offenders Apprehended In First Half Of 2023, FRSC Reports

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja, ACM Kazeem revealed that the violations included various infractions such as driving with worn-out or expired tires, dangerous driving, using phones while driving, over-speeding, route violation, overloading, and failure to use seat belts.

“The Corps apprehended a minimum of 281,421 individuals for committing 307,554 violations across all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory,” he stated.

Highlighting the technological advancements embraced by the FRSC, ACM Kazeem noted that the utilization of body cameras had significantly improved the effectiveness of patrol and surveillance operations.

The application of this technology had contributed to minimizing instances of traffic rule violations and enhancing the overall management of road safety.
