Over Three Tons Of Marijuana Eradicated By NDLEA In Edo Forest....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

 

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has conducted a significant operation resulting in the destruction of more than three tons of cannabis, commonly known as Indian hemp, in a forest located in Edo State.

According to a statement released by Mr. Femi Babafemi, the Director of Media and Advocacy for NDLEA, the drugs were discovered on a vast farmland spanning 1.577683 hectares. This operation involved the raid of the Oloma-Okpe forest in Akoko Edo Local Government Area, where 3,944.2075 kilograms of cannabis were destroyed.

In a separate incident, NDLEA operatives in Edo State apprehended a suspect named Kole Samuel, aged 50, on Thursday, March 14. Samuel was found in possession of 75 kilograms of a psychoactive substance at the market area in Otuo, Owan East LGA.

Furthermore, NDLEA operatives intercepted a shipment of 24 kilograms of cannabis from the driver of a transport company, Ikechukwu Obliged, at the Sagamu Interchange in Ogun State on Wednesday, March 13.

Additional arrests were made in Kano State where two suspects, Ali Amadu, aged 27, and Adamu Hassan, aged 33, were found in possession of a total of 125.3 kilograms of cannabis, 3,400 tramadol pills, and 30 bottles of codeine syrup. They were apprehended on Monday, March 11, at the Gadar Tamburawa area, and on Friday, March 15, at Tsamiya Babba, Hotoro, respectively.

Moreover, NDLEA officials seized 118 kilograms of cannabis from a warehouse in the Masaka area of Nasarawa State on Saturday, March 16.

Meanwhile, NDLEA commands across the nation continued their War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) advocacy campaign with fervor in the past week. These efforts included sensitization lectures conducted for students and teachers at various schools such as Government Day Secondary School in Michika, Adamawa, Nana Aisha Secondary School in Damaturu, Yobe, Dee Unique International School in Abesan, Ipaja, Lagos, and Purple Crown Secondary School in Uwani, Enugu.
