Governor Makinde, during the presentation of the 100 operational vehicles to the state’s security agencies at the open field near the Governor’s car park on Wednesday, emphasized the government’s continuous commitment to providing essential support to the security forces. The primary goal is to safeguard the well-being of the citizens and their possessions.

Expressing gratitude for the dedication of the security personnel, particularly acknowledging the state police command for contributing to Oyo State’s status as one of the safest in Nigeria, the governor urged the leadership of these agencies to ensure the adequate welfare of their personnel.

“Our gesture today is a recognition of the service commanders, officers, and personnel of various security agencies in Oyo State. Despite the security challenges we faced last year (2023), you played a crucial role in making Oyo State one of the safest in the country. Our response is to offer unwavering support to ensure your tasks are unimpeded. Rest assured, we will consistently back you up,” stated Governor Makinde.

However, he sought the cooperation of the service commanders in prioritizing the welfare of the deployed personnel.

Earlier, CP Fatai Owoseni (rtd), the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, lauded Governor Makinde for his commitment to enhancing security in the state. The adviser described the governor’s donation of 100 additional operational vehicles to security agencies as a significant milestone that will substantially improve the efficiency of the state’s security apparatus. Owoseni also praised the governor for his steadfast dedication to ensuring the safety of the state’s residents.
