Pastor Comes To Woman’s Rescue After She Gives Away Life Savings And Faces Eviction
A Nigerian woman has recounted how a pastor reportedly came to the rescue of a church member facing eviction by paying her outstanding house rent of ₦550,000 after she donated her entire ₦200,000 savings as a seed offering.
The account was shared by a woman who said she learnt about the incident from a former colleague whose younger sister had fallen three months behind on her rent and was struggling financially.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the woman had been saving money to settle her rental obligations but reportedly gave away the entire amount after attending a church programme where the pastor preached about sacrificial giving and demonstrating faith through offerings.
Following the sermon, she donated the ₦200,000 in her bank account, reportedly believing that the gesture would attract greater blessings.
However, two weeks after making the donation, she had yet to experience the financial breakthrough she anticipated. Her situation became more desperate when her landlord allegedly issued a final notice, giving her one week to pay the outstanding rent or face eviction.
With the deadline approaching and no money available to settle the debt, the woman reportedly contacted her pastor and explained her financial difficulties.
According to the account, the pastor requested her bank account details and subsequently transferred the full ₦550,000 required to clear her outstanding rent.
The narrator expressed surprise at the development, saying the pastor’s intervention was unexpected.
“My friend said, ‘Emmy, we never saw it coming,’” she recounted.
The woman who shared the story also disclosed that she later accompanied her former colleague to the church, explaining that the pastor’s reported willingness to support members in financial distress influenced her decision.
“Na pastor wey dey support him church members we go support,” she said.
The incident has drawn attention to discussions surrounding religious offerings, sacrificial giving and the responsibility of religious leaders to provide practical support to members experiencing financial hardship.
While some may view the reported intervention as an example of compassion and generosity, the account also highlights the financial risks that can arise when vulnerable individuals give away money they need to meet essential obligations, including rent and other living expenses.
