Responding via her Instagram page, Ozokwor clarified that she legitimately purchased the land in 2010, and that the widow was fully aware of the transaction at the time.

According to her, the woman had even contacted her agent to assist in finding a buyer for the land.

However, in 2023—over a decade later—the widow allegedly attempted to resell a portion of the property, prompting Ozokwor to fence off her land. This, she explained, led to the viral accusations by the widow and her daughter, who claimed she had taken away their inheritance.

Calling the allegations “blackmail, fraudulent and malicious,” the actress accused the women of using her public image to draw public sympathy and financial support.

She wrote:

“I bought that land 15 years ago, in 2010. The seller—who is now accusing me—was the one who approached my agent to sell it.

Fast forward to last year, she tried selling part of my land again, without informing me. When I got wind of it, I took action and fenced my property.

Then came the online drama—accusing me of taking what their husband and father left them.

This is a clear case of blackmail and manipulation. They are leveraging my name for attention and donations, and sadly, it’s working.

Social media is not a courtroom, so I am taking legal action to clear my name, which I’ve worked hard to build.

I am also disappointed in bloggers who circulated the claims without verifying the facts. I say to all of them: ‘Meet me in court.’”

Ozokwor ended her statement by thanking those who stood by her, using the hashtag #MamaGLovers.
