In response to Ganduje’s alleged threats against the people of Osun and Oyo, the PDP, through a statement by its state chairman, Sunday Bisi, reported him to the Presidency, claiming he is acting as an agent of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) with the aim of creating turmoil in Tinubu’s stronghold while secretly working to help SDP gain dominance in the North.
The PDP asserted that Osun has experienced unprecedented development under its leadership in the past two years, surpassing the 12 years of APC’s rule, and insisted that the state’s people are not weaklings who can be controlled from the APC national secretariat.
Describing Ganduje as a failed politician who, after losing influence in his home state, is now trying to bring misfortune to Tinubu’s government, the PDP advised him to focus on reclaiming Kano for the APC before attempting to impose an unattainable political dominance in the South-West.
The statement read:
**”It is unfortunate that politics has declined to the level where people can speak recklessly without consequences. President Bola Tinubu did not send Mr. Ganduje on this self-destructive mission. The APC Chairman is increasingly behaving like a fifth columnist, working to set the President’s home region on fire.
At a time when the APC is facing internal crises in the North, Ganduje is instead focused on destabilizing Tinubu’s stronghold. He seems either incapable of stopping the mass defections in the North or is actively colluding with those abandoning the APC.
The Presidency must closely monitor Ganduje, as he not only lacks control over the North-West but is also inciting violence in the South-West, which could undermine Tinubu’s democratic credentials.
Ganduje has always been an enemy of democracy. His arrogant declarations about hijacking and controlling states as if the APC were an extension of INEC only reveal his fear of the PDP’s growing influence in Osun.
This is the same Ganduje who failed disgracefully as Kano governor and even lost the state to another party. If he is so desperate to claim political territories, why not start with Kano?
We are not intimidated by Ganduje’s threats. When the time comes, we will prove our strength again—just as we did in 2022, we will triumph once more in 2026.”**
