In a statement he issued, the party’s spokesperson asserted that the Supreme Court’s failure to uphold the law was a regrettable situation for Nigeria’s democracy.
He added that the court had not met the expectations of the majority of Nigerians, who had looked to it as a symbol of impartiality that would deliver substantial justice based on the laws and the facts of the case.
Ologunagba noted, “Nigerians earnestly expected the Supreme Court to uphold and defend the clear provisions of the 1999 Constitution regarding the qualification and minimum requirements for a presidential election winner in Nigeria, especially concerning the mandatory 25% of votes in the FCT. Also, issues of electoral rule violations and guideline breaches, blatant result manipulations, and alterations by the APC.”

The widespread sadness, desolation, and feeling of hopelessness across the nation following the judgment are alarming and signify ominous implications due to the disappointment it embodies.”
