The party emphasized that the state’s political landscape, including the ongoing gubernatorial dispute at the tribunal, is a matter decided by the court regarding the outcome of the March 18th election.
In a statement signed by State PDP Chairman Francis Orogu and released to the press in Lafia, the PDP conveyed that the era of political maneuvering had concluded and that traversing between various figures for favor was not the solution to the Nasarawa people’s desires.
It is worth recalling that David Ombugadu, the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate, is challenging the declaration of Governor Abdullahi Sule, who belongs to the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the 2023 gubernatorial elections.
Following the September 14th session, the tribunal reserved judgment on the petition, with counsels for the petitioner and the first, second, and third respondents adopting their final written addresses and pledging to inform the counsels of the judgment’s delivery date.
The PDP Chairman, in the statement, accused the governor of failing to achieve any notable projects during his more than four years in office.
He urged the governor to refrain from involving President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and other national figures in the state’s politics and to focus on addressing his own political challenges.
“We have observed that after four years in office, Governor Abdullahi Sule has not commissioned a single significant project in the state,” the PDP Chairman lamented.
Orogu also pointed out that numerous incidents of kidnapping, killings, and other crimes have occurred unabated during the governor’s tenure over the past four years.
He mentioned that during this period, the Chairman of the APC, Philip Tatari, Former Federal Commissioner of the National Population Commission Zakari Kigbu, and many others were killed.
Orogu further highlighted that the convoy of Deputy Gov. Emmanuel Akabe was attacked, resulting in casualties among the police personnel accompanying the deputy governor.
He also noted that the residence of Labaran Maku, the Former Minister of Information, and his family members had been targeted three times, with loss of life during one of the assaults.
He underscored that there were numerous other instances of kidnappings and killings occurring in various parts of the state.
