Adedamola Adefolahan, also known as Fireboy DML, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter who recently shared the story behind the creation of his famous song, Peru.
The singer claimed that DMW artist Peruzzi, who frequently includes a hook in his songs, served as inspiration for a portion of the song’s lyrics.
When he said, “I’m looooo, Peru don dey para,” Fireboy noticed that he was making a reference to Peruzzi.
The YBNL Nation explained in a recent interview with Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1 that he wrote the song as a result of his first time visiting the United States.

Prior to that, he claimed to have had a writer’s block, therefore recording Peru was an unplanned action.
The singer of Vibration claimed that at the time, he was on the verge of depression, and that when he arrived in Miami, Florida, USA, he was attracted by the sensation and experience he had after going to a strip club.
